Costumed life drawing with a cheeky Sprite

wombsha's friends

Some of Wombsha’s friends… I am patiently trying to capture an image of Wombsha herself!

Wombsha, the mysterious forest sprite is coming to Bunya House!

This is a costumed life drawing session for young people aged 12 – 17, together with an adult…(gran, mum, dad, aunty, uncle, big sis, etc). The session is from a series of Saturday classes for young people and their favourite adults. It’s a chance to do something creative together that will support your skills to stretch and grow. Life drawing is a fabulous brain-workout that sharpens observation and helps develop fluid, expressive drawing skills.

In this session I’ll be supporting you both to develop your observational drawing skills, while also capturing the ‘essence’ of the character.

Don’t be shy, all levels of skill are welcome, from absolute beginners to world famous artists and everyone in between! Everyone has to start somewhere and with a small group, the atmosphere is friendly, non-competitive and lots of fun.

There are only ten spaces available (five family pairs) so be quick to secure your spot by enrolling below.

Who?

Young people aged between 12 and 17 accompanied by an adult. If you would like to join but fall outside this age range, contact me for a chat.

What?

Session outline: The afternoon has two parts:

1pm: images and discussion – looking at diverse approaches to drawing, identifying drawing interests and exploring techniques.

1.30-3.30pm: drawing the model who will do a mix of short and longer poses in character and in costume

There will be a short tea break half-way through the life drawing session.

When?

Saturday 24 September, 2016, 1pm-3.30pm

Where?

Bunya House

Bunya House, 1167 South Pine Road, Arana Hills.

Complete the contact form below and I’ll send you a map and respond to any questions you may have. Some GPSs and iPhones have a map error, so I want to make sure you know how to find us. Please note that Arana Hills is a north-west Brisbane suburb, near Mitchelton, Ferny Hills, and Everton Hills, about 13km from the city centre.

How much?

$55 for the two of you. Classes need a minimum of three pairs of people to go ahead and the room only holds ten people, so it is important to enrol using the contact form below.

What to bring?

Easels and drawing boards are provided. I offer A2 sized cartridge paper at cost – 25cents/sheet (not acid free). Apart from that, please bring your own paper and drawing materials. Here’s a suggested list (but don’t feel you have to rush out and buy a lot of materials…we’ll work with what you have).
