Park Life Drawing Returns!

Park life drawingsquWith the cooler weather of autumn I’m happy to announce a new season of Park Life Drawing! We gather our picnic gear and frolic forth with two sessions in May, featuring musicians Glyn Hickling and Kate Barzdo as our models. The sessions are part of the Hills Festival, supported by Moreton Bay Regional Council.

Both sessions will be lightly tutored to encourage people who are beginners as well as more experienced artists. A special bonus is that the cost is very low to give new people a taste – just a $5 materials levy! Park Life Drawing is suitable for adults as well as school aged young people accompanied by an adult (minimum age 12).

FAQs

Who is this for?

Beginners through to artists with more experience are welcome to attend this session for adults and young people over the age of 12.

Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Children slightly younger than 12 years with enough maturity and focus for a session that is 2.5 hours long may be able to attend. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and each child requires a separate ticket.

This is a Covid-safe event capped at 12 people.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

You will need to drive to Bunya Crossing Reserve. Parking is limited, so please aim to arrive early to find a spot and find your way to the picnic ground.

Essential to bring:

  • your own chair, and/or picnic rug and cushions
  • a drawing board, if drawing larger than A3 (and your own paper)
  • weather protection (we will be drawing in the shade, but please be sunsafe)
  • insect repellent – mozzies and sandflies love artists because we are sitting still!
  • snacks and water
  • hand sanitiser

Wet and windy weather

We have a back-up plan if the weather is inclement and will move to an indoor venue.
