Life drawing for beginners August

Life Drawing is so good for the brain – working out the left-right hemisphere connections and activating new neural pathways. It has been proven by the Mayo Clinic to be one of the best ways to maintain cognitive health as we age. Let’s do it!

Here’s the next session for those who would like to draw…But…! It’s the second session in a series for beginners. If you missed the first, no worries, you can join this without feeling you are missing a building block. I’ve designed the series to be inclusive of new people.
This session focuses on gaining a sense of the whole figure, translating it onto the page and working with proportions. It will be fun and rewarding.
For those who’ve done some drawing in the past, this session will help get rid of the rust and get you moving again!

When is it?

Saturday 12 August, 1pm-3.30pm

The session goes for 2.5 hours, including instruction, approximately two hours of drawing from life, a tea break and lots of individual and group support.

How much does it Cost?

$35 When you book in, I’ll provide payment details Please check the payment and cancellation policy

When you complete the enrolment form below, I’ll send you a map and respond to any questions you may have. Some GPSs and iPhones have a map error, so I want to make sure you know how to find us. Please note that Arana Hills is a north-west Brisbane suburb, near Mitchelton, Ferny Hills, and Everton Hills, about 13km from the city centre.

What should I bring?

Easels and drawing boards are provided. I shall provide some media for this session – a couple of sheets of A2 paper and willow charcoal for some experiments. Apart from that, please bring your own paper and drawing materials. If you prefer to get paper on the day, I offer A2 sized cartridge paper at cost – 25cents/sheet (not acid free). Here’s a suggested list of drawing materials (but don’t feel you have to rush out and buy a lot of materials…we’ll work with what you have).
